NEWCIS (North East Wales Carers Information Service)

NEWCIS is a voluntary organisation established to provide information and support to carer’s signposting to other relevant organisations and agencies as appropriate. Group support is provided through the 4 carer’s circles they hold each month but is also available on a one to one basis, either by informal chat or with counselling/life coaching sessions, which is provided when funding allows.

NEWCIS regularly organises events for carers such as day trips, training courses, information days and Carers week and Carers Rights day events. They actively campaign for Carers rights and recognition and are involved with primary care agencies to promote this and identify hidden carers. They have a carer’s consultation network, which allows carers to get involved in local and national discussions/decisions regarding legislation. All  events are advertised in their quarterly newsletter.
