- Childline – lots of great content about some of the (sadly) common difficulties our younger patients sometimes face
- Counselling
- Relate – Young Persons Counselling Service – “You might be experiencing problems at school, issues with your parents or generally not feeling like yourself. Counselling lets you talk about how you feel, separate from school and home life and can help you get back to enjoying life.”
- Denbighshire County Council – Young Persons Counselling Service
- BACP – the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. The “Find a Therapist” link is useful and there are a couple of local counsellors who work specifically with children (search by area and then narrow the search using the filters
- “How to Talk So Teens Will Listen and Listen So Teens Will Talk” – a much recommended book (Amazon, Kindle etc < £10)
- Royal College of Psychiatrists – Young People’s Mental Health including their excellent “Surviving Adolescence” toolkit
- Young Minds
- MIND have a very good links page for children and young adults (some support for very specific situations here)
- ASDInfo – the Welsh Autistic Spectrum Disorders site
- Action For Children (Local Search)
- Anxiety UK – Young People Support and they have some downloadable leaflets/resources
- BEAT – Eating Disorders Information & Support
- Centrepoint – Homelessness support (age 16-25)
- Talk To Frank – honest, non judgemental information about drugs
- Refuge – good, practical domestic abuse/violence information and support
- NHS CYPMHS – a good NHS UK page about Children and Young Persons Mental Health Support Services (CYPMHS) also known as CAMHS.
- Hope Again – a website from younger people from CRUSE (one of the main bereavement support charities)
- Supportline – “SupportLine is particularly aimed at those who are isolated, at risk, vulnerable and victims of any form of abuse” but they have a huge links directory.
- MentalHealth.Org – not specifically for youngsters but their A-Z is useful.
- Child In Mind Podcasts – Some Radio 4 “Child in Mind” podcasts about things like anxiety, adhd, trauma, eatings disorders and a range of topics from the Anna Freud NCCF
- LGBT+ – Umbrella Cymru (social groups links), Mermaids, Viva LGBT, Book – Has Your LGBTQ Child Just Come Out?
- ECHO – Support for children and youngsters with heart conditions (and their families)
- Rare Diseases – a joint site between Genetic Alliance UK, Rare Disease UK and SWAN UK (Symptoms Without A Name). A very useful site about finding a diagnosis for rare conditions, genetic and other testing and support.
- Contact – support for youngsters with disabilities and their families (has an online shop for harder to find but useful products)

- STAND – Support for families of youngsters with complex disabilities
