Practice boundary

Our boundary was changed in 2007 in agreement with Denbighshire Local Health Board and was reconfirmed with BCUHB in 2019.

As a rough guide, our northern boundary runs from the county boundary along the Abergele Straits, down the middle of Rhuddlan High Street and towards Prestatyn as far as the Graig Park Hotel / Thorncliffes. On the east we follow the Denbighshire/Flintshire boundary and to the west the Denbigshire/Conwy boundary. To the south, we cover down as far as Trefnant crossroads. If you’re not sure if we cover your area, contact us with your postcode and we’ll happily check for you.

Our Boundary Map and Description

  2. South along the Denbighshire/Conwy county boundary through Bodelwyddan, crossing the B5381 west of Glascoed
  3. South-east along the Denbighshire/Conwy county boundary to its junction with Lon Jack-FFwrn approximately a mile north of Henllan
  4. Along Lon Jack-FFwrn to it’s junction with the B5428 (Henllan to Trefnant)

  8. North along the B5429 until the Pen-y-Cefn turn in Tremeirchion
  9. North-east along the unnamed road to Pen-y-Cefn until the junction with the A55
  10. Across the A55 (n.b. no through road) to the junction of the A55 and the county boundary (~300 yards)
  11. North-east along the county boundary, across the A5151 (Dyserth to Trelawnyd) to the junction with Allt-y-Graig
  12. East along Allt-y-Graig to the junction with the A547 (Prestatyn to Rhuddlan)
  13. South-west along the A547 (Prestatyn to Rhuddlan), along Rhuddlan High Street to the junction with the A525 and A547 as at (1) above.

The boundary runs down the middle of roads or other boundary structures such that the properties on the ‘outside’ half of boundary roads fall outside the practice area. That said, the final decision for patients on / just over the boundary will be decided by the practice partners and will be according to road, county or postcode boundary as appropriate.

When our boundary was redefined and agreed in 2007, we kept existing patients within the area defined below but haven’t accepted new patient registrations from this area since that date.

  1. North-east from the nearest point of the Denbighshire County Boundary south of the A5151 to the junction of the A5151 with Bryn-yr-Odin in Trelawnyd (~ 0.5 miles and the Denbighshire side of Spar)
  2. North along Bryn-yr-Odin to the junction with the Gwaenysgor to Llanasa road (~ 1.1 miles), then west to the Gwaenysgor turn (~ 0.9 miles)
  3. North along the main Gwaenysgor road, down Gwaenysgor hill to Prestatyn following Ffordd Las to the junction with A547 (Gronant to Meliden) opposite the top of Prestatyn High Street (~ 1.6 miles)
