The Pen Y Bont surgery team are delighted to offer a travel clinic within the practice, which caters for all of your travel needs with a one-stop shop service, right here in the practice. We can offer all common travel vaccines ‘in-house’, alongside Malaria advice and prophylaxis, and proof of vaccination.
Our clinics can also offer a number of general health related vaccinations privately, for those not eligible to receive them on the NHS (please see below for a full list)
In addition, we can also offer a limited number of vaccinations to meet Occupational or education requirements, subject to consultation. These include, for example Hep B vaccines for healthcare workers, Rabies vaccines for veterinary staff, or tetanus for agricultural workers. Typically, this would be applicable if your employer is not obliged to pay for this.
Our clinics take place once a month, and are either led by a GP or Practice Nurse depending on the type of appointment required. For patients coming to the clinic who are not registered with us, you will be asked by the clinician about your general health, and any previous allergies.
Our clinics are open to both our NHS registered patients and the general public (as private consultations). Please ideally contact us 6-8 weeks before travel to ensure your vaccines can be administered, although we appropriate sometimes this may not be possible.
We offer:
- Comprehensive Travel Related Medical Advice prior to departure
- FREE Vaccinations for our NHS Registered Patients for vaccines that are covered on the NHS
- A comprehensive vaccination service for most other travel related vaccines that are needed privately, where these are not provided by the NHS.
- Some limited vaccinations for Occupational Health purposes or Education/Training
- Antimalarial Prophylaxis Prescriptions & Advice
- Travel Health Certificates
- Proof of Vaccination Certification
- Private administration of some general health vaccinations such as Influenza, COVID-19 and Shingles for those ineligible for a dose provided by the NHS.
